Church Under A Rock

Where I do for you what I normally do.

I’m a pastor — and this is simply an extension of that.

At Church Under a Rock, we open up God’s Word, walk through it together, and actually try to understand what it’s saying — not just at a surface level, but in a way that helps you grow in your faith and live it out.

Also, as demonstrated below, we try our hand at writing worship songs that are biblically accurate, engaging and helpful to those who want to praise God in that way.

Colossians Series

In this series, we're walking through Colossians to understand what it actually says — and how it shapes our lives.

Paul isn’t giving abstract theology. He’s reminding believers who they already are.

In Christ, you’ve been brought fully into the covenant, raised with Christ. Your old way of life is exactly that — old, and dead.

Don’t get pulled into distractions, rules, or spiritual add-ons.

The fullness is already in Jesus.

Pentecostals and Penal Substitutionary Atonement

Why Jesus didn't die.
In this series Pastor Chris Pompu and Steve talk about why Jesus did die - his motives and what the atonement accomplished.

Pastor Chris Pompu and myself we engage in four parts:
1. Our Stories & The Early Church
2. Pentecostal History - and why we don't have a robust and documented theology.
3. Why Penal Substitutionary Atonement (PSA) is wrong.
4. The Better Way - atonement theories that are way stronger and actually supported by the text and church history.

Worship Songs

Steve writes his own worship songs.
Below is the playlist for what he's written.

Using his own abilities and combining that with AI (or sometimes straight up relying on AI because it sounds way better than him, and he's honest about that), he writes songs with the goal of being Biblically and theologically faithful and accurate.
